Gaelic 4 Girls

Currently studying in UCC, her PhD study ‘Gaelic4Girls’ specifically focuses on the promotion of female youth physical activity/sport participation amongst 8-12 year old girls.  She believes there are significant future benefits for girls that are activity involved in sport from a young age.  This made her the ideal candidate for brand representative for Spot on Sports.

A love of Gaelic Football

‘Orlagh is not only a passionate sports person she also has a love of sport that she is keen to pass on to the younger generation.  She brings a high level of enthusiasm to our brand and I know she will display the same talent and dedication to promoting this helpful tool for children’ says Barry Anderson, Spot on Sports.

The Spot on Sports ball does everything a normal ball does but has many added features that help teach the skills of Gaelic Football.  The special markings on the ball engages kids and helps coaches to explain to them how to play.  The perfect beginners tool, it helps build confidence in young players and keeps them interested in the game.   Those that use the ball can learn quicker and start to enjoy the game in a fun way.

Helping kids learn

Orlagh says ‘I am pleased to become part of this wonderful brand.  It’s an Irish brand and a family business which is important to me.  I know by using this ball it will make football more accessible to younger children.  It makes it easier for the coaches, the kids learn quicker and it keeps them in the sport.  I have been an ambassador for the National Ladies Gaelic Football (LGFA) ‘Gaelic4Teens’ initiative since 2017.  While tutoring coaches and teenage girls all over Ireland, I know the importance of encouraging and making it easier from the start.  This ball is the perfect tool’.
